Where to buy watches
Whether you want to buy a watch online or offline, there are many choices available and it’s important to do some research before you buy to make sure you’re buying from a reputable and authorised watch dealer.
If you’re going to spend a lot of money on a watch you want to be sure that the retailer you’ve chosen is going to supply a genuine brand and not a replica, and you want to be sure that they will still be around if you have a problem and need their help.
If you’re buying a new watch then it will come with a guarantee and you will be protected by that as long as the watch manufacturer is still in business. But if you’re buying a second hand watch then you need to be more careful – caveat emptor – or buyer beware!
You can find some great deals on watches on the eBay auction website, but you should always check that the seller has good feedback – find out what their returns policy is too just in case the goods aren’t as expected, and if you’re making a big purchase then collect it in person so you can satisfy yourself that it’s the real deal.
Offline you may decide to visit a specialist, you’ll find them listed in your Yellow Pages or using a Google Local search.
